Fencing starts along Pakistan’s porous border with Afghanistan

Pakistan and Afghanistan share an approximate 2,600 kilometer of largely porous border and both blame each other for encouraging terrorist infiltration to support deadly attacks on their particular soils. Relations between the countries have plunged in the last two years over mutual terrorism allegations.

Pakistan sealed all border crossings with Afghanistan in mid of February, during a deadliest wave of attacks on Pakistani soil that killed at least 130 people. Pakistan and Afghanistan accuse each other of sheltering elements of the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban respectively.

Pakistan military has recently decided to initiate fencing the parts of its disputed northwestern border with Afghanistan to curb the movement of Taliban fighters from both sides who are known to be behind these terrorist activities.

Pakistan Army is now building more than 420 small forts along the Pak- Afghan border, not only this but Pakistan is also deploying radar sensors to detect cross border movement. From a geopolitical and Geo-strategic perspective, it has been defined as one of the most dangerous borders in the world.

23rd March – A day that signifies relentless struggle for the creation of Pakistan

23rd March – A day that signifies relentless struggle for the creation of Pakistan

Over and above 70 years ago, March 23 became the day of the Pakistan resolution. This historic day replicates the strength and determination of a nation that stood united for its struggle for independence. Despite facing enormous difficulties, the nation fought together for a single cause that was none other than independence for a separate homeland for Muslims of the sub-continent. Pakistan Day commemorates the passing of the Lahore Resolution, when a separate nation for the Muslims of The British Indian Empire was demanded on March 23, 1940.

The military parade was resumed in 2015 after a gap of seven years and was seen as a demonstration of the military’s show of strength in the wake of an outrageous attack in 2014 on the Army Public School in Peshawar.

It will be the first time in Pakistan’s history that Chinese troops as well as Turkish Band will participate in the March 23 parade. Seventy-two of the 90 members of the Chinese troop will participate in the Pakistan Day processions to be held on Thursday.

Some evil elements have been successful in creating a divide within the country unfortunately. We must also follow the footsteps of our great leaders and glorify Pakistan with the golden principles of ‘Unity, Faith and Discipline’ laid by our great leader Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. The unity that used to be the nation’s strength has been lost regrettably. On this day, every citizen of Pakistan must vow and promise to stand firm and united and make Pakistan more prosperous and progressive.

Long awaited Census in Pakistan begins today

Long awaited 6th population and housing census starts today finally after lapse of nineteen years across Pakistan. The word ‘Census’ is basically derived from Latin word ‘Censere’ which means ‘To Estimate’. The first census in the country was conducted back in 1951, second in 1961, third in 1972 and fourth in 1981 respectively whereas the fifth census, which was due in 1991, was conducted in 1998 with the assistance of the army.

The army personnel would also be involved in enumeration as well as providing security to the surveyors. The first phase of the exercise that started today will end on April 15. The second phase will commence on April 25 and end on May 25. Census reports are expected to be accomplished within a period of two months.

Under the constitution of Pakistan, the government is bound to conduct census every 10 years but unfortunately it took approximately two decades to conduct census. Pak-Afghan apprehension after the recent spate of terror attacks in Pakistan

Pak-Afghan apprehension after the recent spate of terror attacks in Pakistan

Recently Pakistan suffered diverse acts of terrorism affecting all four of its provinces. In the latest series of Pakistani counter terrorism operations which were directed at dismantling jihadist infrastructure within the country, it marks an official acceptance of the distinguished fact that terrorists are active in northern Sindh and Punjab and that there’s a need to act against them if terrorism in the country is to be defeated.

Pakistan abruptly closed Pak-Afghan border for indefinite period over security reasons soon after the series of attacks conducted by Jammat ul Ahrar. Pakistan security forces also pounded the camps of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar terrorist group across the border in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s decision to close the border with Afghanistan was a largely symbolic act aimed at forcing its neighbor to take action against extremist groups blamed for fomenting cross-border terror attacks.

Pakistan military has in addition launched Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad against terrorists across the country. It aims at indiscriminately eliminating latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders. Pakistan’s Air Force, Navy, civilian armed forces and other agencies would actively participate to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.

Apart from the local militant groups Pakistan has identified yet another culprit behind these terror activities that is none other than its own neighboring country Afghanistan. It is a fact that cannot be denied that Afghanistan soil is being used by militant groups against Pakistan by our enemies over span of years. The major problem is the porous border between both countries that is known as Durand line and covers an area of approx. 2400km long. Afghan government is not doing enough to stamp out militant groups, and that the militants in turn, were using Afghanistan as a base to plan attacks in Pakistan. It closed all border crossings and shelled what it said were militant camps on the Afghan side of the border. The army also demanded the immediate arrest of 76 terrorists it said were living in Afghanistan.

It might take long to settle and normalize relations between both countries as recently Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani refused to attend the 13th Economic Cooperation Organization summit that was held in Pakistan. We can still hope for better liaison as it is finest for both the countries to bring not only stability but also prevailing peace in region.

Raad ul Fassad launched to uproot terrorism

Raad ul Fassad launched to uproot terrorism

After the recent spate of lethal terrorist attacks across country Pakistan Army has launched operation “Raad ul Fassad” with a hope and aim to uproot terrorism from country. Raad ul Fassad is basically an Arabic term which literally means “elimination of violence.” In this operation, Pakistan armed forces, rangers along with Law Enforcement Agencies will actively participate to eliminate the menace of terrorism from country.

The past few weeks have traumatized the entire nation as the resurgence of extremist activities alarmed us about the revival of terrorist networks in Pakistan. Although we are not losing the fight against the terrorism but it is also a fact that we are not even successive in culminating the terrorist network as well. The government of Pakistan must also ensure steps to implement National Action Plan (NAP) to eliminate terrorism from society.
This decision was taken in wake of resurgence of militant attacks in Pakistan. There was a series of terrorist assaults in past two weeks killing and injuring a huge number of people. The emergence of militant groups like Daesh and JuA along with their allies can be a major blow to Pakistan. Thus, this operation was need of hour to eradicate and restrict militants from carrying out such devastating assaults.

Previously, after the fatal attack of APS Peshawar Pakistan military executed operation Zarb e Azb with full momentum and the positive outcomes of that operation were quite visible. The nation believes in the strength of our valiant forces and we also hope that our forces will achieve the ends by eradicating the discord from the land of peace. Pakistan army has support of people against all the odds and nation stands with them no matter what.

May God Almighty assist the armed forces of Pakistan in their mission and protect Pakistan.

Pakistan Army, striving for excellence!

Pakistan Army, striving for excellence!

The efforts of Pakistan Army in order to bring stability in the country is on one side, our army is fighting war against terror while on other, army is always there whenever we need them to provide help or relief to natural disaster effected people.

Disaster management is an essential part of governance that basically includes mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitations. Unfortunately, our civil administration is quiet incompetent in providing relief to the sufferers of disasters and eventually army has to step forward to play an important role through conducting rescue and relief operations in any mishap.

Army supports the government by providing medical facilities, rescue operation and other activities as it has submissive personnel with extra ordinary expertise to provide help in the emergency state in cooperation with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

Pakistan army is perhaps the only well organized organization in Pakistan that has been playing a variety of laudable roles in the progress of the country. It is evidently apparent from history that Pakistan Army has always been at the front line position whenever the nation is hit by any natural calamity or emergency. Be it the destructive earthquake or the devastating flood, in times of any natural disaster in Pakistan, the government always turned to military in order to help control the situation. Our brave forces have never let us down and we as a whole nation are proud of our valiant and courageous forces.
